The Washington Huskies like to refer to themselves, among other things, as “DBU”. And they are well within their rights to claim that title when looking at the number of defensive backs that the program has sent to the next level. There are currently 9 defensive backs in the NFL that played their collegiate football at the University of Washington.

This year, there is a new crop of Husky DB’s down on Montlake. After graduating players like Byron Murphy, Taylor Rapp, Jordan Miller and JoJo McIntosh last year, the Dawgs had some pretty big shoes to fill. And they are being filled by some very young players. True Freshman safety Cameron Williams has shown himself to be a great addition to this “Death Row” Defense, providing 3 interceptions thus far in his rookie campaign.  RS-FR Kyler Gordon has also been impressive during his first year on the field, and true freshman Trent McDuffie and Asa Turner have also graded out well in the action that they have seen 5 games into the season.

This year’s Death Row secondary is responsible for 91 total tackles, 11 pass deflections and 7 INT’s. Watch what Head Coach Chris Petersen thinks about his young defenders at this point in their young careers.
