2024 G Del Jones Puts West Virginia in Top 8

West Virginia secures a spot in the top list of school of Del Jones.

Tuesday evening, class of 2024 guard Del Jones, in conjunction with Joe Tipton of On3, announced his top eight schools. West Virginia made the cut along with Arizona State, Clemson, Ole Miss, Oregon, Providence, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.

Jones, a native of Chandler, Arizona, recently played at Huntington Prep before transferring to Compass Prep in Arlington, Virginia.

He is currently participating in Nike's EYBL Circuit playing for Team Durant. In 17 games, Jones is averaging 10.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 68/164 (41.5%) from the field and 14/58 (24%) from three-point range.

West Virginia has used the portal to help fill out the backcourt the past couple of seasons to go along with Seth Wilson and Kobe Johnson, who are entering their junior year. The Mountaineers do not have an underclassman guard on the roster or any commitments in the 2024 class at this time.
