BREAKING: Mountaineers land elite wide receiver

The West Virginia class of 2019 may have just landed its biggest commit in wide receiver Isaiah Hazel of Dr. Henry Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Hazel chose the Mountaineers over other offers from Alabama, Maryland, Michigan, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

Hazel is a receiver that plays much larger than his 6'1" 190 pound frame indicates. He is often used as a go-to red zone target and deep ball threat. He does show flashes of his speed but is a solid possession receiver and has a similar playing style to current Mountaineer Gary Jennings. Hazel doesn't drop many balls thrown his way and is a very reliable target in 3rd down situations.

Hazel is rated as a 4-star recruit by 247sports and the 202nd best player in the nation, which means he is currently the highest rated West Virginia commit. He becomes the 3rd wide receiver of the 2019 class joining Deshon Stoudemire and Winston Wright Jr.
