West Virginia offensive assistant Travis Trickett has obviously been tasked with keeping tabs on prospects in the state of Ohio.

On Monday, Trickett offered Pickerington (OH) 2020 defensive end Ty Hamilton.

"I think it's a great offer. I don't know a lot about them, but I'm looking forward to getting to know them,'' Hamilton said of his offer from the Mountaineers.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Hamilton already holds offers from Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, and many others.

Given his size and athleticism, Hamilton feels his versatility is what makes him special.

"Me being able to play inside and outside of the D-line and me being able to fire off the ball quick and use my hands effectively."

Hamilton was actually one of two players from his high school offered by West Virginia on Monday, and the idea of playing with teammate (Lorenzo Styles, WR) at the next level has grabbed his attention.

"I think it's a great opportunity for me and him," Hamilton stated on the offers he and Styles received. "That would be amazing for me [to play with a high school teammate in college] because I would have someone I know and it would make the transition to college easier."

Hamilton does not have any leaders at this time, but stated that a school with his major (business) and a coaching staff that can make him the best player he can be will be taken into consideration.

As for now, the Ohio native is working on getting on campus for a visit.

"I'm planning on making it up there in the next two weeks or sometime soon."
