WVU Offers Class of 2022 Offensive Tackle Jacob Allen

WVU RB coach Chad Scott offers Jacob Allen of of New Jersey

West Virginia running backs coach Chad Scott offered class of 2022 offensive lineman Jacob Allen out of the Hun School of Princeton in New Jersey.

“It’s such an honor to be recognized by a coach that thinks I would be a positive attachment to such as a program like WVU,” Allen comment on the offer. “It’s a reminder to work harder than ever.”

Standing at 6-6 and weighing in at 275-lbs as a sophomore in high school, Jacob holds two other offers from Virginia and Central Michigan, but Allen understands he needs to continue to work on his game.

“Bringing my hips into blocks more and getting stronger in my lower body,” said Allen. ‘Coach A’ is one of the best strength coaches I’ve ever worked with, so I know he’ll help me with that dramatically.”

Jacob can get to the next level to block linebackers and defensive backs. He can pull down the line or just flat out come off the ball and put a defensive lineman on his backside. He has a bit of a mean streak to him and recognizes it.

“I feel that I play with a good sense if intensity and violence,” said Allen before acknowledging again there is still a lot to improve on to not only bring in more division one offers but hold the ones he has. “There is still so much work to be done to improve my craft.”.

Allen has never been to Morgantown, but that doesn't mean the rising sophomore isn't familiar with the Mountain State.

“I haven’t been down there to see it in person yet, but some big names have come out of WV, so it’s easy to tell they generate greatness.” stated Allen.

And when asked specifically which alum stands out the most to Allen...

“Definitely Pat McAfee. The man is just a savage.”
