BOULDER CITY, Nev.  – The Wyoming Cowgirl golf team will finish out its fall scheduled in the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, a three-day event that opens on Sunday at Boulder Creek Golf Club.

“This event historically has a number of low scores and a very competitive national field,” head coach Josey Stender said. “I truly believe we have the ability to manage the set up and be a team to be contended with if we play aggressively and smart.”

This weekend’s tournament is set up on the 6,277-yard, par-72 course at the Boulder Creek Golf Club. Play is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. MT on Sunday with 18 holes of play. The second and third rounds are set for 9 a.m. MT on Monday and Tuesday. All three days include shotgun starts.

Along with the Cowgirls, the 18-team tournament field features Colorado State, East Tennessee State, Fresno State, Idaho, Long Beach State, New Mexico State, Nevada, Northern Arizona, Northern Illinois, Oral Roberts, Portland State, San Francisco, South Dakota State, Tulsa, UC Irvine, UC Riverside and UNLV.

The Cowgirl lineup features for the weekend includes Erin Sargent, Cristiana Ciasca, Caitlyn Skavdahl, Samantha Hui and Michelle Nguyen.

Wyoming is coming off a 15 place finish at the Seattle Pat Lesser Hatbottle Invitational in Tacoma, Wash. Sophomore Cristiana Ciasca was the top finisher for the Cowgirls with a tie for 38 place.
