TSN Skins Curling 2011 Part III
by George Karrys
RAMA, Ontario – Following David Murdoch's admittedly fortunate skiff-double for a big $6,500 skin, the seventh end began with a couple of hapless guards – one was hogged – and more wrecked come-arounds. Koe third Blake MacDonald finally broke the spell with a nifty toss for his squad to lie two in the four-foot.
And when Murdoch missed his runback smasher, it was time for Koodawg to make two perfect guards. He needed to score the skin, or at least force a carryover – any more money for Murdoch would mean they win the game, and advance to Sunday's final.
First guard: somewhere between "really good" and "pretty good", depending on whose player microphone you believed. Indeed, another miss from Murdoch – and he didn't have much, really – and it's now $7,500 to $7,00... and we're going down to the final end!
