ALTO DE HAZAS LLANAS, Spain (AP) Alberto Contador extended his lead of the Andalucia Vuelta by winning Friday's mountainous third stage.

Contador pulled away from Chris Froome, leaving the 2013 Tour de France winner to follow from a distance as the Spaniard reached the summit finish 19 seconds better off.

Contador extended his lead to 27 seconds with two stages to go as he prepares to ride in both the Giro d'Italia and Tour in search of what would be a seventh grand tour title.
