Fortnite Is Getting a Fourth of July Event — And Players Are Concerned
Fortnite is getting another event but it may not be what players want.
A recent leak from trusted Fortnite dataminer HYPEX has revealed that a Summer Event is coming — and it’s bigger than last year’s version. HYPEX shared with their followers that it’s looking to take place on July 4, 2023.
In the tweet, HYPEX also mentioned that the Summer Event includes Mural and Propping events. Both will have quests and free rewards. Unfortunately, Fortnite players are not impressed.
In response to the announcement, Fortnite players immediately relived the horrors of last year’s Summer Event. Many said they were not excited at all if the event was similar to last year’s in any way.
Why Was the Fortnite Summer Event Bad?
Fortnite’s Cosmic Summer Celebration was a huge dud for Fortnite players.
Used to epic crossovers with fun limited-time modes and desirable pop culture skins, fans were frustrated when the event was just a simple list of challenges and rewards.
Even worse, the Cosmic Summer Celebration didn’t even have an impact on the battle royale mode. Instead, all of the challenges revolved around creative game modes, ignoring the alien-infested battle royale.
It’s no wonder fans are worried about this year’s Summer Event.
The lackluster event is most likely due to the entire Epic Games staff taking vacation simultaneously at that time of the year. With the devs set to take a vacation in July this year as well, fans are fearing the worst.
