Disguised GC silence doubters in Game Changers debut
The VALORANT Game Changers NA 2023 Series open qualifiers are finally upon us as 48 female teams across North America set their sights on the VCT Game Changers NA 2023 Series 1 main stage. With heavy favorites such as Version1, XSET, and FaZe Clan all competing in the open qualifiers, many fans of the Game Changers series look to several different teams as the top Game Changers contender in 2023.
Yet, one of the most hyped rosters competing in the VCT Game Changers NA 2023 Series open qualifiers was that of Disguised GC, a team comprised of many popular Twitch streamers. Realistically, many people doubted the team’s ability to make any type of run in the open qualifiers. Many were not expecting them to be treating the open qualifiers intending to be able to make a deep run in the Game Changers series.
However, today's series against SHIFT X was proof that this team of popular streamers is entering Game Changers to win.
Disguised GC dominates SHIFT X 2-0 in VCT Game Changers
Disguised GC’s first map on Icebox saw the team demonstrate a deep understanding of how to play the defense side of Icebox as SHIFT X was unable to capitalize on the map’s attack-favored side. As a result, Disguised GC ended the first half with an 8-4 scoreline off the back of strong performances from QuarterJade and tupperware. That stellar preparation was also evident in the second half as Disguised GC closed out the first map 13-6.
Disguised GC continued their stellar level of play on Haven as they ended the first half with yet another 8-4 scoreline. While SHIFT X was able to bring the series to overtime, it was not enough to seal the deal on a third map as Disguised GC silenced all doubters with a 14-12 victory to close out the series 2-0.
Disguised GC will now immediately move into round 2 of Group B’s winner bracket against Evil Geniuses GC. While Disguised GC enters that series as the underdogs once again, viewers should, at the very least, expect a competitive match between the two teams.
That match between the two teams will also take place today April 4, when the stream can be watched through the VCT Americas YouTube and Twitch channels.
