In the wake of the ongoing Richie Incognito/Jonathan Martin situation, it is likely that a brighter light will be shined on hazing at all levels of sports. One such incident occurred last week in Hutchinson, Kansas, where three students were arrested for branding several of their underclassman teammates' abdomens with hot wire coat hangers.

According to SportsGrid, the hangers were not already heated, but were repeatedly rubbed on the victims' skin until the friction made them hot. Additionally, one of the aggressors has a pretty length rap sheet.

KWCH has a non-embeddable video report on the topic, relaying that these brandings have been part of the football program for years and that the coaches, despite warning the team against hazing, have chosen to ignore them.
