Stephon Marbury Gets Ejected from Game, is Still Playing Professional Basketball

Looking for the latest Starbury news? Well you came to the right place, friend.

Stephon Marbury former NBA player and peddler of affordable footwear, is currently making his living playing point guard for the Beijing Ducks.

While his career has rejuvenated overseas, it still seems that he possesses some of the qualities that made him particularly well-known during his time in the NBA.

During a game on Feb. 5 against the Shandong Flaming Bulls (side note: That is an amazing team name), Marbury was ejected for (sort of) punching an opponent. The commotion takes place at about the 1:30 mark in the video above.

Based on the report from Chinese sports blog Beijing Cream, this game was pretty great:

Fans become all the more aggravated when officials announce that Marbury has been ejected from the game. He was assessed a technical foul on the initial drive to the hoop (a confusing, terrible call), then another technical for throwing a punch.

There’s more to this story: while officials were sorting out free throws, Shandong forward Donnell Harvey engaged Marbury’s trainer in a bit of trash talk, with the two apparently agreeing to meet after the game to throw down.

After the game, a European basketball blogger tweeted this photo, and I'm not quite sure what to make of it:

This was Marbury's first game back after missing 22 games with an injury. He's currently averaging 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the Ducks, who sit at 3rd in the CBA standings.
