D-II Basketball Game Ends in a Tie after Full-Court Shot Destroys a Light

Thursday February 20th, 2014

Winston-Salem State and Johnson C. Smith walked away from their game last night with a tie, after an attempted buzzer beater knocked down a light fixture hanging over the court.

Since the light was threatening to crash onto the court, the officials decided to call the game a draw.

A tie in basketball just feels weird. Couldn't they have played half-court, or had a game of P-I-G between the teams to choose a winner?
