Twitter Predicts the Winner of the Stanley Cup Playoffs
The folks over at Twitter assemble a ton of data, and using a unique approach to sports analysis, they've determined that the Pittsburgh Penguins will win this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs.
What data were they using, you ask? It has nothing to do with stats or past performance -- Twitter assembled their bracket based strictly on what team has the most Twitter mentions. So drawing the next logical conclusion, if you don't mention your favorite hockey team on Twitter a lot, they probably suck.
