Oh, Mets.

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times: Never accidentally send out the personal financial information of your team's general manager to the reporters in a mass email. Classic mistake.

Regrettably, a Mets staffer had to learn this lesson the hard way today.

The email apparently included Alderson's credit card number as well as the including security code and expiration date. A follow-up email was sent after reading "Please disregard the previous email. Sorry for any confusion."

All in all this hasn't be a great few weeks for the Mets front office -- the franchise received a lot of criticism for an open letter recently sent to fans asking them to pledge their loyalty to show that they're "true New Yorkers."

Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly indicated that the email also included Alderson's social security number.
