Keith Olbermann Reminds Viewers What Memorial Day In Sports Is Really About

Tuesday May 27th, 2014

Yesterday was Memorial Day, and while franchises across the country celebrated with American flags and camouflage hats, Keith Olbermann began his show with a reminder that Memorial Day is not about selling holiday-themed memorabilia or even honoring those currently serving and their families. It's about memorializing those who died at war.

Olbermann devoted his opening segment to memorializing athletes who lost their lives in service of this country -- athletes like Pat Tillman, Christy Mathewson, Dell Chambers, Hobey Baker, Nile Kinnick, and Jack Lummus.
