Athletes and Their Food Products

Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera inked a 10-year, $292 million extension in the offseason but his entrepreneurial spirit is still strong. The Tigers slugger announced the launch of a new website ( to sell his salsa. Cabrera is not the first athlete to put his name on a food item. Here are some of our favorite athlete-endorsed products.

Romance. Kansas City Chiefs Style.

The Bengals and Chiefs squared off in a preseason game Thursday night and the highlight (besides De'Anthony Thomas' 80-yard punt return) was this couple getting engaged in the Arrowhead Stadium concourse.

Who Wants Hitting Advice From George Brett? Not the Royals.

Mike Schmidt wrote an opinion piece for the Associated Press and shared an anecdote about George Brett's time as Royals' hitting coach last season. According to the story, Brett was in one batting cage and an assistant coach was in the other. All the young Royals hitters were lined up to hit at the assistant's cage and nobody wanted to hear from Brett. I guess batting .305 with 317 home runs and nearly 1,600 RBI over a 21-year career doesn't hold much clout these days.

Hot Clicks Q&A: Lily Aldridge

SI Swimsuit model Lily Aldridge visited the office today for an appearance on SINow. I accosted her in the makeup chair for a quick Q&A.

I saw on your Twitter feed that you love L.A. radio hosts Kevin and Bean. What are your other favorite things about Los Angeles?

I love In-N-Out Burger and stop there every time I'm at LAX. I love Runyon Canyon, which is one of my favorite places to work out. And I also love the Sunset Marquis Hotel.

You're in New York City now. When you get back to L.A., what's the first thing you'll watch on your DVR?

I'm watching The Leftovers right now. I'm trying to get into it and the last episode hooked me in. It was amazing.

What's been your very best moment of the summer?

Going to Lollapalooza, which was last Sunday. it was fun, the weather was perfect. It was a great summer day.

Speaking of Lollapalooza, what's your favorite band, non-spouse edition?

Arcade Fire. I am seeing them two nights at The Barclays Center later this month.

(Editor's note: At this point (and I'm not sure why), a big discussion breaks out about the Saved by the Bell Lifetime movie, which nobody knew about besides me. After a brief synopsis of the movie, Lily requested I re-ask one of my previous questions).

So let me ask again. What is your very favorite moment of the summer?

Just now when you told me about the Saved by the Bell movie.
