The Weekend Preview: Your weekly list of things to watch, eat, do, and buy for August 22nd

It's finally Friday, the day you've been working for all week! To help you celebrate, Extra Mustard is bringing you a new weekly feature every Friday that details all the cool stuff you can do, watch, buy, and eat this weekend, curated by a staff that will likely spend the weekend watching an old Freakazoid DVD and not leaving the house.

. The Little League World Series

Saturday and Sunday on ESPN

SI cover star Mo'ne Davis might be out, but the Little League World Series is far from over. Check out all the action on ABC and ESPN this weekend, and remember that these kids have accomplished more at 13 than you have at 30.

. Doctor Who Season 8 Premiere

Saturday on BBC America, 8PM ET

You used to be unpopular if you didn't play sports. Now you're unpopular if you don't watch the BBC's time-traveling series. Tune in to see if the new Doctor, Peter Capaldi, lives up to his predecessors, and save yourself the embarrassment of not being able to keep up with conversations at work on Monday (that is, if you haven't already watched the leaked episodes).

. The VMAs

Sunday on MTV, 9PM ET

MTV's Video Music Awards are perfect for people who genuinely love pop culture and for jerks who just want to make fun of stuff on Twitter. We'll see if the Toronto Raptors come out to support Drake as hard as he's always supported them (spoiler alert: no).

. When The Game Stands Tall

Friday

Finally, something to do when you're forced to spend quality time with your stepdad. When The Game Stands Tall tells the tale of an inspiring coach leading his team to victory and overcoming obstacles along the way -- probably the first sports movie ever to tell such a story. SI Now found out a little more about the movie right here.

. The Horse Collar

Lambeau Field, Green Bay, WI

The Packers released perhaps the most unnecessary food of all time this week, and it is imperative that you fly to Wisconsin immediately to eat it. The Horse Collar is a 22-inch kielbasa with beer cheese and sauerkraut. It clocks in at over 6,000 calories, because who needs their arteries, anyway?

. The Hawk Dog

CenturyLink Field, Seattle, WA

Celebrate the return to football season with this 24-inch hot dog covered in chipotle cheese sauce, Pico De Gallo, red peppers, jalapeños, sour cream, and guacamole, because nothing says "Seattle" like Mexican food. For more on the Hawk Dog, check out our Concession Item Of The Week.

. SausageFest

Friday thru Sunday, Chicago, IL

Our first two suggestions didn't provide you with enough tube-shaped meat? Then head to Chicago to check out their SausageFest, where you can gorge yourself on "the greatest encased meats this city has to offer." There will also be medieval jousting, which is always a fun activity on a full stomach.

. Lebowski Fest

Friday and Saturday, New York, NY

The Dude abides in New York this weekend as hundreds of Lebowski fans descend on the annual Lebowski Fest for bowling, booze, and a screening of the movie. I'll take any excuse to stay in my bathrobe all day.

. Chicago Comic Con

Thursday thru Sunday, Chicago, IL

Missed out on the San Diego Comic Con because you were too busy eating deep-dish pizza? You're in luck, because Comic Con comes to Chicago this weekend. Special guests include Norman Reedus, Matt Smith, Stan Lee, Bruce Campbell, Patrick Stewart, John Cena, Dave Bautista, and SI cover model Cheryl Tiegs.

. FYF Fest

Saturday and Sunday, Los Angeles, CA

Catch one last outdoor music festival before we head into fall at FYF in Los Angeles. Lineup includes The Strokes, Phoenix, Interpol, Haim, Grimes, and Flying Lotus. When your mom asks what you're doing this weekend, don't try to explain who those bands are.

. High Plains Comedy Festival

Thursday thru Sunday, Denver, CO

Denver's High Plains Comedy Festival couldn't be a better idea. Is there a better place to hold a comedy festival than a state with legalized weed? Lineup includes Pete Homes, TJ Miller, Nick Thune, Emily Gordon, Kumail Nanjiani, Denver comedy wunderkinds The Grawlix, and some special guests TBA. Wanna give standup a try? Head to the High Plains Open Mic on Friday and say you performed on the same bill as TJ Miller.

. NIke LeBron 11

From $190

Nike's new LeBron line gets released on Saturday. Get 'em in neon green and grey, red and bronze, or blue and gold. Alternatively, treat yourself and get all of them (you have $1000 just sitting around, right?).

. Adidas Custom Stan Smiths

From $100

Your feet work hard. They deserve custom treatment. Hook them up with a pair of customized Stan Smith sneakers from Adidas, new this week. If these shoes are good enough for Kanye and Pharrell, they're good enough for you.
