The quarterback who replaced Johnny Manziel at Texas A&M threw himself into the Heisman Trophy discussion Thursday night — and Manziel himself took notice.

Aggies sophomore quarterback Kenny Hill broke Manziel's single-game passing yards record, completing 44 of his 60 passes for 511 yards and three touchdowns (and zero turnovers). Hill demolished Manziel's single-game record by nearly 50 yards. He also now owns the single-game program record for completions.

Manziel was pretty excited for him and his former college team Thursday night, and he fired off a couple tweets:

Hill led No. 21 Texas A&M to a huge, 52-28 upset over No. 9 South Carolina, which had won 18 consecutive games at home.
