George Will will not speak at your event if the Cubs are in the playoffs

Friday October 17th, 2014

Avowed Cubs fan and conservative commentator George Will has a clause in his public speaking contract allowing him to renege on any scheduled appearance if it conflicts with a Cubs playoff appearance.

Will hauls in approximately $48,000 per speaking appearance, but he'll forfeit all of that back gladly in the event he has to miss an engagement to see his beloved Cubs fight for the team's first World Series appearance since 1945, and first World Championship since 1908, according to Busted Coverage

If the Cubs do make the playoffs for the first time since 2008, perhaps he'll write a second, albeit happier, book about the experience of being a lifelong Cub.

Important: Willie Mays was carrying a dog around at AT&T Park
