Jaguars cornerback Dwayne Gratz was arrested early Sunday morning in Miami for disorderly intoxication. The cops say he got in a fight with a cashier when he tried to pay with bubble gum, Gratz says that's not true.
Gratz met with the media briefly on Wednesday and apologized for bringing negative attention to the team. He chose not to disclose any details of the case and didn't address whether or not he can differentiate candy from currency. He apparently told teammates he knows bubble gum is not legal tender, though.
“He said the gum thing wasn’t true,” Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts said, according to Jacksonville.com.
Gratz's discipline will be handled internally by the team, but he will play Sunday against the Colts.
