Antiques Roadshow Jackpot
It's not every day I get to work Antiques Roadshow into Hot Clicks but today is one of those days. This sweet woman pictured above is the great-great-granddaughter of a lady who ran a Boston boarding house. Members of the Boston Red Stockings (yes, that was a team) used to stay there in the 1870s and gave her signed baseball cards. The cards were put in a drawer and nearly 150 years later they are worth over $1 million.
Great Wall of Van Gundy
The Pistons beat the Spurs last night on a last-second shot by Brandon Jennings. The shot gave Detroit a one-point lead with 0.1 seconds left. Stan Van Gundy huddled his team to discuss defensive strategy, which for Van Gundy meant, "Build a f------ wall." Luckily, cameras were in the huddle to catch Van Gundy's orders. The victory was the sixth in a row for Detroit, which hasn't lost since waiving Josh Smith.
Most Expensive Athlete in the World
European soccer’s midseason transfer window -- when clubs are permitted to buy and sell players -- is now open and the CIES Football Observatory has released its semi-annual list of the most valuable football players in the world. Lionel Messi is at the top of the list with a $262 million transfer value, which doesn't include his yearly salary (he currently makes just over $50 million/year). In other words, a team would have to dedicate over $310 million for Messi to play. This is just a tad over the $160,000 average salary of a MLS player.
Lovely Lady of the Day
Syd Wilder wrote and directed the Victoria's Secret Fallen Angels Parody, which stars Carrie Minter, Sarah Stage, Tiffany Toth and Melissa Milonaro. I'm a big fan of Wilder (described as "Sarah Silverman meets Kim Kardashian on four cups of coffee"), who earns today's LLOD honors (click here for full-size gallery).
The NBA's Odd Couple
The Lakers may be 11-24 this season and second-to-last place in the Western Conference but they do have a future reality show if someone could follow Jeremy Lin and Nick Young around all day.
Ted Williams Condoms
Three boxes of condoms featuring Ted Williams, boxer Jack Dempsey and an unidentified football player are up for auction with the current high bid at $150. Just spitballing ideas here but if I were an executive at a company like Trojan, why wouldn't I hire an athlete with a big personality (Rob Gronkowski comes to mind) to be my spokesman?

From the SI Vault
Former Red Sox outfielder Tony Conigliaro, who missed the entire 1968 season after getting struck in the face by a Jack Hamilton fastball, would've turned 70 today. In this 1970 photo, Tony C. wears makeup to replicate his black eye and poses with legendary SI photographer Neil Leifer. This photo from the shoot led to one of SI's most famous covers (inset). For more classic photos, visit the SI Vault on Twitter.
Odds & Ends
O.J. Simpson's missing Heisman Trophy has been located. Turns out it was in the possession of Vincent Ludwig the whole time (just kidding) ... Rick Ross got the Miami Heat logo tattooed on his face ... Cris Collinsworth's son Austin is doing pretty well for himself in the female department ... The refs of the Detroit-Dallas game missed another call as egregious as the pass interference ... Even Darin Erstad doesn't understand how someone could've chosen him with their Baseball Hall of Fame vote ... Athletes explain the significance behind their jersey number ... A former NFL coach thinks Andrew Luck will be the best QB of all time.
NHL Stars Play Sled Hockey
Sidney Crosby, Claude Giroux, Logan Couture and other top NHL players strapped themselves into sleds for a game of sled hockey against athletes with disabilities.
Allen Iverson Schools Tyrone Lue
This is one of the most famous plays of the last 20 years. Why am I showing it here? Check out the next item.
Poor Tyrone Lue
The image of Iverson stepping over Lue has been made into a t-shirt. A fan at Monday's Cavs-Sixers game got Lue to pose with him while wearing the shirt.
Real Life Peter Griffin
A short documentary about a guy who dressed like Family Guy's Peter Griffin and attended various Comic-Cons along the east coast. (H/T BroBible)
