The UAB athletic department has taken plenty of criticism after killing off the school's football program. That criticism likely won't end anytime soon, but you won't hear any negative comments from head basketball coach Jerod Haase.
Haase signed a two-year contract extension, but it contains a special clause.

According to the Associated Press, the new contract stipulates that Haase must "keep public statements complimentary to the administrators of the athletic program and to UAB."
Haase's orginal contract included a similar clause, but it's probably a good idea to reiterate that, given all the heat UAB has been taking.
