Warriors prank assistant coach Alvin Gentry with Pelicans film

The Warriors had a bit of fun during their film session at the expense of assistant coach Alvin Gentry.

The Warriors had a bit of fun while watching film in preparation for the NBA Finals at the expense of assistant coach Alvin Gentry.

The New Orleans Pelicans announced on Saturday that they had hired Gentry as their new coach. But Gentry is still finishing his assistant coaching duties with the Warriors, who are set to open their NBA Finals series against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday.

Gentry studied film clips for the Warriors over the weekend and sent a few to the team's video coordinator to prepare for Monday's film session, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. But when Gentry began his video session on Monday, the clips he selected didn't play on the monitor.

Instead, the Warriors were treated to a montage of Pelicans highlights, including captions like "Boy, this team has a lot of potential" and "God, this guy is GOOD," referring to New Orleans star Anthony Davis

The entire room burst into laughter.

"At the end of the tape, there's a milk carton with my picture on [it] that says, 'Have you seen this guy? He's been missing in action,'" Gentry said, according to ESPN.

Gentry seemed to take it well: ""I'm like, 'OK, Y'all got me good. OK.'"
