Darrelle Revis' mother not allowed to attend Patriots' party without son

All members of the Patriots Super Bowl XLIX winning team were invited to attend the ring presentation dinner at Robert Kraft's home on Sunday, even those who have since moved on to new teams, like the Texans' Vince Wilfork and Jets' Stevan Ridley.

All members of the Patriots Super Bowl XLIX winning team were invited to attend the ring presentation dinner at Robert Kraft's home on Sunday, even those who have since moved on to new teams, like the Texans' Vince Wilfork and Jets' Stevan Ridley.

When former Patriots (and current Jets) cornerback Darrelle Revis realized he would not be able to make it to the fun-filled event, he decided to send his mother as his proxy, which turned out to be a no-no, according to ESPN.

It seems the Patriots were looking to make the event players only, and since Revis was not attending, his mother, Diana Askew, also would not be able to go, as the invites were non-transferable. That's something Askew did not find out until she landed in Boston on Saturday.

ESPN reports Askew picked up the ring on Monday at Patriots offices, which is a far cry from getting to watch Tom Brady's uncomfortable dance moves in person.
