Bryce Harper hit one of the most patriotic home runs in MLB history on Saturday afternoon, as the American-born player used an American-themed bat to homer for the Nationals in the nation's capital on America's birthday. Harper's 2-run bomb was glorious but it likely won't make the list of most patriotic sports moments in American history. As you all engage in responsible and adequately mature celebrations this weekend, remember the Fourth of July is the most dangerous day of the year. Instead of lighting your face on fire or losing limbs, get patriotic tattoos that will make you love America even more.

Fourth of July festivities include the legendary celebration on Coney Island, where eight-time hot dog eating champion Joey Chestnut was shocked by YouTube sensation Matt Stonie. Chestnut might not have grabbed a ninth title but the eating machine was at least the subject of his own (disgusting) ESPN Sport Science.
