Los Angeles Angels use helicopter to dry field following rain storm
Over the weekend, Southern Californians became reintroduced to the phenomenon known to most as “rain.” Storms rolled through the area, forcing the first postponement of a Los Angeles Angels home game since 1995.
On Monday, to get the wet field set for the team's double-header against the Boston Red Sox, the organization deployed a helicopter to fan-dry the grass.
You would be forgiven for assuming a movie was filming some sort of baseball-related heist scene. But hey, extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. And those measures worked: Both teams began play as scheduled around 2 p.m. PT.
The last time an Angels home game got rained out, Mike Trout was three years old, and the Los Angeles Angels were called the California Angels.
