Bringing Down the House

Angels outfielder Shane Victorino ran into an unexpected obstacle Monday night when a panel of the outfield wall at Oakland’s O.Co Coliseum fell down after he crashed into it. Tampa Bay’s wall held up just fine as Rays centerfielder Kevin Kiermaier pulled down an amazing home run robbery of Manny Machado.

Deadline De Gea Deal Derailed

Monday saw the closing of the transfer window in soccer, and Manchester United and Real Madrid may be left with some egg on their faces as the teams failed to submit the paperwork on a transfer that would have sent United keeper David de Gea back to his hometown of Madrid. There are conflicting reports on whether the deal was completed one minute before or after midnight, leaving De Gea in limbo. Perhaps the only fair thing is to have him finish the season for US Orléans, a French Ligue 3 team whose stadium is roughly halfway between Old Trafford and Camp Nou (Update: Wrong Spanish mega-team, I meant Bernabéu.)

Are You Ready For Some Rulings?

Judge Richard Berman met with the NFL and NFLPA for what is supposed to be the final time before he issues a verdict in Tom Brady’s Deflategate appeal. SI’s Michael McCann breaks down the legal happenings in the latest meeting and explains what they might mean for the coming ruling, which is expected as soon as Wednesday. Also, the court room sketch artist drew Brady recognizably this time.

Lovely Lady of The Day

I decided to make Tuesday’s Lovely Lady a Swedish professional basketball player, so I had to choose between Elsa Hosk and Jonas Jerebko. After much deliberation, I went with Hosk, who was recently named as part of the newest class of Victoria’s Secret Angels.  (Click here for full-sized gallery.)

Red Sox Quell Orsillo Uprising

The Red Sox are parting ways with beloved TV announcer Don Orsillo, and fans are not happy. Some have reported that Boston faithful brining signs supporting Orsillo are having them taken away by security, which the team denies.

Perfect for Scaring Away Birdies

Is your yard missing a statement piece that makes it stand out from your neighbors? Then you should consider dropping 1200 Chinese Yuan, or around $188, for a creepy bronze statue of Tiger Woods.
