Bucs-Titans ref pleads with teams to ‘hold on’ over loudspeakers

Sunday’s clash between the Titans and Buccaneers saw two rookie quarterbacks going head to head in their first-game as NFL players. With inexperience can come impatience, which led to Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay offense being scolded over the loudspeaker by a ref.

Referee John Hussey was attempting to reset the clock near the end of the first half when he noticed the Bucs were already lined and about to snap the ball, so he began shouting ‘hold on!’ at the players while his microphone was still live, broadcasting the command over the Raymond James Stadium loudspeakers.

Hussey’s directive is likely not the only admonishment the Buccaneers received on Sunday, as the coaching staff was probably not pleased with the team’s performance in its 42–14 loss to Marcus Mariota and the Titans.
