Friday Night Lights began life as a book and then was turned into a movie, before becoming a beloved television series, and now the franchise is taking on another medium as it becomes a musical for one night only.

The tale of the Dillon (Texas) High School football team and the community around it will be brought to the stage by the same creative team that turned another teen TV drama, The OC, into a musical earlier this year. The production will feature Scott Porter, who played Jason Street on the NBC show, essaying the role of Coach Taylor.

Mashable.com reports that the musical will hit the stage in late spring or early summer of 2016, so Panthers fans should block out a few months of their calendars just to make sure they are ready for the event.
