A very fortunate TV reporter in the San Francisco Bay Area narrowly avoided being hit by a speeding car during a live segment Tuesday morning.

KTVU’s Alex Savidge was reporting on Monday night’s train derailment when a car came careening toward him.

Savidge and cameraman Chip Vaughn both managed to evade the out of control car, thanks to Vaughn’s quick thinking. Savidge posed for a selfie with the offending vehicle after the dust had settled.

He also recounted the experience in a video on Facebook.

Close Call!! Almost got hit by a car live on-air, heart still pounding.

Not only were Savidge and Vaughn unharmed, the drivers of both cars also walked away uninjured.
