At the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday, President Obama roasted GOP presidential hopeful Ted Cruz for calling a basketball hoop a “basketball ring.”

“Sure, I’m the foreign one,” he quipped.

In Indiana last week, Cruz mistakenly referred to the famous hoop from the movie Hoosiers as a “basketball ring.”

He concluded his speech by channeling Kobe Bryant, saying “Obama out,” as he dropped the microphone

Among notable athletes at the dinner are Knicks star Carmelo Anthony and Wizards guard John Wall.
