A sideline reporter needs to keep their head on a swivel at all times, scanning their surroundings not only for news that may be of interest to the people at home but also for flying objects headed their way.
Jenny Canvar was covering the Rockies from the camera pit up the third base line as they took on the Red Sox when Boston’s Blake Swihart sharply hit a ball that went foul and headed straight for the reporter, who made a very nice play to snag the souvenir.
Colorado has just 20 errors so far on the season, good for third best in Major League Baseball, and it seems some of the fielding skill has even rubbed off on the broadcast crew.
