The Minnesota Timberwolves used Jaden McDaniels's 3-pointer with 13.1 seconds to go to force overtime but their turnovers and missed free throws helped the Sacramento Kings pull out a 114-111 victory at Target Center on Monday night.

McDaniels's 3-pointer came at the right time for the Timberwolves, who fell behind 103-99 after Malik Monk's jumper with 1:02 to go. After Rudy Gobert made a free throw with 51.1 seconds to play, the Timberwolves got a stop and McDaniels's tied the game on the following possession.

Despite the effort to tie the game, the Timberwolves handed it to the Kings throughout the evening. Minnesota committed 18 turnovers on the night which led to 21 points for the Kings. The Wolves also went 13-for-25 at the free throw line (52 percent) leaving points on the floor for Sacramento to capitalize.

The Kings lost Domantas Sabonis in the closing seconds of regulation but Trey Lyles picked up the slack by scoring eight of Sacramento's 15 points in overtime.

Despite Anthony Edwards scoring 33 points with eight rebounds and five assists, fellow All-Star hopeful De'Aaron Fox scored 32 points with five assists to help the Kings come away with a big win in the Western Conference playoff picture.

The Wolves fell to 27-26 on the season and will host the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.
