Vikings' Jordan Addison cited for reckless driving at 140 mph
Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison was charged for reckless driving after he was clocked by a state trooper going 140 mph in a Lamborghini on Wednesday night.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Addison was driving a Lamborghini Urus eastbound on Interstate 94 near Dale Street in St. Paul when he was stopped by a state trooper around 3 a.m. Thursday.
The trooper observed Addison driving 140 mph in a 55 mph zone. He was stopped and issued a citation for speeding and reckless driving. No further information has been released by the State Patrol as the investigation is ongoing.
“We are aware of last night’s traffic incident involving Jordan Addison and are gathering additional information," the Vikings said in a statement.
The Vikings drafted Addison 23rd overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. His reckless charging drive comes just over a week before the Vikings report to training camp, where he is expected to compete for the No. 2 or No. 3 wide receiver role with K.J. Osborn.
Minnesota law defines reckless driving as: "A person who drives a motor vehicle or light rail transit vehicle while aware of and consciously disregarding a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the driving may result in harm to another or another's property is guilty of reckless driving. The risk must be of such a nature and degree that disregard of it constitutes a significant deviation from the standard of conduct that a reasonable person would observe in the situation."
Anyone found driving over 100 mph in Minnesota can lose their driver's license for six months.
