The Chicago Cubs lost on Saturday against the Cincinnati Reds, 8-5, to make it two straight losses.

While Cubs starter Jameson Taillon didn't get the loss on the mound, he did become a unique part of some disappointing Cubs history.

ESPN Stats & Info tweeted:

The Cubs have lost the first 8 games that Jameson Taillon has started this season.

That is tied for the 3rd-most consecutive losses when a pitcher starts to begin a season in Cubs history.

Taillon went 4.2 innings in the game, surrendering six hits and four earned runs. He walked one and struck out five.

For the season, he's 0-3 with a disappointing 8.04 ERA. He's struck out 32 in 31.1 innings.

He signed a four-year, $68 million deal with the Cubs this offseason after spending the last two years with the New York Yankees. He was supposed to be a key addition to the rotation, but it hasn't worked out well so far.

Taillon made his debut in 2016 with the Pittsburgh Pirates and spent four years on the mound in Pittsburgh. He missed all of the 2020 season but spent 2021 and 202 in the Bronx.

For his career, he's 51-38 with a 4.00 ERA in 151 games.

The Cubs are now 22-29 on the season while the Reds are 23-29. The two teams will play again on Sunday at 2:20 p.m. ET at Wrigley Field in Chicago
