Seattle Mariners rookie pitcher Bryce Miller got another win on Wednesday night against the Oakland Athletics and continues to make history each time he takes the mound.

He tossed six innings, allowing no runs on two hits with one walk and six strikeouts. In doing so, he moved to 3-1 with a 1.15 ERA. The Mariners won the game, 6-1.

It doesn't matter whether you're talking about team history or baseball history, Miller is making it.

Sarah Langs of MLB.com tweeted the following stat:

Bryce Miller is the 1st pitcher since at least 1901 to go 6+ IP and allow 4 hits or fewer in each of his first 5 career appearances

The Mariners PR team tweeted out this nugget as well:

.@Bryce_miller9 pitched 6.0+ innings and allowed 5-or-fewer baserunners for the 5th consecutive start, extending his Major League record to begin a career. Miller also tied Randy Johnson (5/28-6/19/1997) for the @Mariners franchise record.

And Mariners statistician Alex Mayer tweeted out this one:

Bryce Miller has the lowest WHIP (0.511) through a pitcher’s first 5 career starts in MLB history.

It doesn't matter how you slice it, the kid has been great through his five starts. And the Mariners have needed it. With Robbie Ray and Easton McGee out for the season with Tommy John surgery, and Chris Flexen struggling, Miller has stepped in and kept the Mariners afloat.

The M's are now 25-24 and will look to sweep the Athletics on Thursday.

First pitch is set for 9:40 p.m. ET.
