Mavericks Star In Walking Boot Following Monday's Game Against Grizzlies

Dallas Mavericks All-Star Kyrie Irving was seen in a walking boot following Monday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Heading into Monday night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks star guard Kyrie Irving was listed as "questionable" with right foot soreness.

Ultimately, Irving played in this game and recorded a team-high 28 points on 10-24 shooting, but the Mavericks were unable to get a much-needed win, losing 112-108 to the Grizzlies.

While he did not leave Monday's game, Irving was seen in a walking boot after the game and was asked if it was something more serious than the foot soreness he had been dealing with.

"It's just precautionary," Irving said in regards to the walking boot on his right foot. "I just got to make it back home to Dallas and start my recovery work and do everything I can to prepare for the next day-and-a-half to take time and rest. Exhaust all my options possible to be ready to play in the next game."

About halfway through the third quarter, Grizzlies wing Dillon Brooks appeared to step on the back of Irving’s foot. Kyrie said in his postgame remarks that he did not think that Brooks was intentionally trying to injure him.

Stating that this is not a new injury and simply a "re-aggravation at the top of his foot," Irving said he was relived that he did not suffer a new foot/ankle injury.

After losing on Monday to the Grizzlies, the Mavericks feel to the 7-seed in the Western Conference due to the Golden State Warriors picking up a victory.

Wednesday's game against Golden State now becomes the biggest game of the season for the Mavericks, as a loss at home could very well sink their chances of avoiding the Play-In Tournament in the Western Conference.

Luka Doncic, who sat out his fifth straight game on Monday with a thigh strain, could be ready to return for this game with Irving's status once again being a question mark.
