Golden State Warriors Player Will Miss Remainder Of Regular Season
On Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors will face off with the Dallas Mavericks on the road in Texas.
The matchup will be the last of their five-game road trip.
Before the game (on Tuesday evening), the team announced that Andre Iguodala had successful surgery on his wrist.
He will be re-evaluated in four weeks, which means the four-time NBA Champion has been ruled out for the remainder of the regular season.
Via Warriors PR on Tuesday night: "Warriors forward Andre Iguodala, who suffered a fractured left wrist on March 13 against the Phoenix Suns, underwent successful surgery yesterday to stabilize the fracture. He will be re-evaluated again in four (4) weeks."
Iguodala is in his 19th season in the NBA and is one of the most important veterans on the team.
That said, he has only played in eight games this season with averages of 2.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest.
The 39-year-old helped the Warriors win four NBA Championships in the last eight seasons and was the Finals MVP in 2015 (the first title of their run).
Right now, the defending NBA Champions are in the middle of an up-and-down season.
They have a 37-36 record in 73 games, which has them as the sixth seed (the final guaranteed playoff spot) in the Western Conference.
The biggest struggles for the team have come on the road, where they have gone just 8-29 in the 37 games they have played away from the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
