On Wednesday evening, the Phoenix Suns will be in California to face off with the Los Angeles Lakers.

They will remain without one of their best players for the game, as Kevin Durant has been ruled out and did not travel with the team to Los Angeles (via Melissa Rohlin of Fox Sports).

Rohlin tweeted: "Kevin Durant and Deandre Ayton didn’t make the trip to Los Angeles, per the Suns."

Durant was traded to the Suns (via the Brooklyn Nets) earlier this season, but he has missed each of the last six games due to an ankle injury.

The Suns announced on March 9 that he would be re-evaluated in three weeks.

Via The Suns on March 9: "INJURY UPDATE: Further evaluation has confirmed that Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant has sustained a left ankle sprain. He will be re-evaluated in three weeks."

The 13-time All-Star has played three games for the Suns and has fantastic averages of 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 blocks per contest (while shooting 69.0% from the field).

Right now, the Suns are the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 38-33 record in 71 games.

They are 5-5 in their last ten games and 15-21 in the 36 games they have played on the road away for Phoenix.

As for the Lakers, they are 35-37 in 72 games, which has them tied with the New Orleans Pelicans for the 11th seed in the Western Conference.

They are 19-17 in the 36 games they have hosted on their home floor in Los Angeles.
