Kevin Durant's Status For Suns-Kings Game And Injury Update

Kevin Durant has been ruled out for Friday's game but could return as soon as Wednesday (according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium).

On Friday night, the Phoenix Suns will be in California to face off with the Sacramento Kings.

For the game, they will remain without 13-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant, who has missed each of the last seven games due to an ankle injury.

That said, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium has reported that the superstar forward could return as soon as Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Via Charania on Friday afternoon: "Phoenix Suns' 13-time All-Star Kevin Durant (sprained ankle) is progressing toward a potential return to action on Wednesday vs. Minnesota Timberwolves, barring any setback, league sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium."

Durant was traded (via the Brooklyn Nets) to the Suns last month, and he has only played in three games with his new team.

During that span, he averaged an incredible 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 blocks per contest (while shooting 69.0% from the field and 53.8% from the three-point range).

In 2021, the Suns made the NBA Finals, and last season they had the best record (64-18) in the league, so the addition of Durant makes them one of the favorites to win the 2023 title.

Right now, they are tied with the Los Angeles Clippers for the fourth seed in the Western Conference and have a 38-34 record in 72 games.

Currently, the Suns are on a two-game losing streak and 5-5 in their last ten games.

On the road, they have struggled, going just 15-22 in the 37 games they have played outside of Arizona (they are 23-12 at home).
