Exciting Rumor About 4x NBA All-Star Rajon Rondo

According to Jack Pilgrim of On3, Boston Celtics legend Rajon Rondo could join the Kentucky Men's Basketball coaching staff.

Rajon Rondo is one of the best point guards to ever play in the NBA.

The four-time All-Star played 16 seasons in the league and averaged 11+ assists four different times.

Right now, Rondo is currently a free agent, and with the 2022-23 NBA season more than halfway through, the 36-year-old doesn't appear to be joining a new team any time soon (he could also be finished playing).

On Friday, Jack Pilgrim of On3 reported that Rondo is "working toward joining the Kentucky coaching staff in 2023-24".

Via Pilgrim's article: "The former Kentucky standout is actually back on campus taking classes and hanging around the basketball offices. And the plan is to stick around, with Rondo in early conversations with John Calipari about joining the staff — like Ulis — as a student assistant next season."

Rondo has played for nine different NBA teams, but he is most known for his time with the Boston Celtics.

He helped lead them to the NBA Finals two times, and they won the NBA Championship over the Los Angeles Lakers in 2008.

In addition, the four-time All-Defensive Team player won the NBA Championship with the Lakers in 2020.

Therefore, he won titles with two of the most notable franchises in the NBA.

Rondo is from Kentucky and played his college basketball for the Wildcats from 2004-06.

He most recently played for the Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2021-22 season.

In 957 regular season games, the future Hall of Famer has averages of 9.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.9 assists and 1.6 steals per contest.

He also played in 134 NBA Playoff games.
