Jimmy Butler Reveals What He Needs To Change Following Miami Heat's Game 1 Loss

Jimmy Butler met with the media after the Miami Heat lost Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

On Thursday evening, Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat lost Game 1 of the NBA Finals to the Denver Nuggets (on the road in Colorado) by a score of 104-93.

Butler played 38 minutes and had 13 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one block on 6/14 shooting from the field.

After the game, the six-time NBA All-Star met with the media and shared what he needs to fix going into Game 2.

Butler: "Maybe I have to be a little bit more aggressive. I've gotta put pressure on the rim. Me with no free throws, that was all on myself, nobody else. We'll definitely correct that next game, but only I can do that."

Butler has had a sensational 2023 NBA Playoffs with averages of 27.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.0 steals per contest while shooting 48.1% from the field and 36.1% from the three-point range.

He signed with the franchise in the summer of 2019 and has led them to the Finals in two out of the previous four seasons.

Despite being the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, the Heat are one of the most talented teams in the league and have defeated the Milwaukee Bucks (first seed), New York Knicks (fifth seed) and Boston Celtics (second seed) through the first three rounds of the Playoffs.

Game 2 of the series will be back in Denver on Sunday evening before Games 3 and 4 in Miami on Wednesday and Friday.

The Heat are 0-3 against the Nuggets this season.
