Jimmy Butler's Viral Quote After Heat-Celtics Game
On Friday night, the Miami Heat pulled off another upset when they defeated the Boston Celtics (on the road in Massachusetts) by a score of 111-105.
They now have a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals, with Games 3 and 4 on their home floor in Miami, Florida, on Sunday and Tuesday.
Jimmy Butler has been sensational during the 2023 NBA Playoffs and finished the night with 27 points, eight rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks in 41 minutes of playing time.
In the middle of the fourth quarter, Butler and Celtics' forward Grant Williams went head-to-head in a heated moment.
Following the dramatics, the Heat went on an incredible 24-9 run.
After the game, Butler met with the media, and one of his quotes went viral on social media (Butler's full media availability can be watched here).
Butler on Williams: "It makes me smile, it does, when people talk to me. I'm like, 'ok, I know I'm a decent player if you want to talk to me out of everybody that you can talk to.' I don't know. It's just competition. I do respect him, though. He's a big part of what they try to do. He switches. He can shoot the ball. I just don't know if I'm the best person to talk to."
Through his first 12 games of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, Butler has fantastic averages of 31.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 2.2 steals per contest while shooting 51.8% from the field.
