Former Kentucky Star Works Out For Los Angeles Lakers

Former Kentucky Men's Basketball player Oscar Tshiebwe worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Last month, the Los Angeles Lakers had their season end when they lost Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals to the Denver Nuggets by a score of 113-111.

During the middle of the season, they were the 13th seed in the Western Conference, but the Lakers were still able to finish as one of the final four teams in the NBA.

Now that their season is over, the franchise will focus on the upcoming NBA Draft and host workouts with many college players.

On Friday, the team hosted six players, including former Kentucky Men's Basketball star Oscar Tshiebwe.

Via ESPN's Dave McMenamin: "Lakers pre-draft workout group for Friday:

Jalen Wilson - Kansas

Morris Udeze - New Mexico

Cam Shelton - LMU

Tshiebwe played two seasons of college basketball for West Virginia (and two for Kentucky).

Last year, the 23-year-old averaged a very impressive 16.5 points, 13.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.0 blocks per contest while shooting 56.0% from the field.

Bleacher Report currently has Tshiebwe as the 60th pick in their 2023 NBA Mock Draft.

The Lakers have the 17th and 47th picks in the Draft, which will be on June 22.

Last year, the team selected Max Christie out of Michigan State with the 35th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

He averaged 14.5 points per contest on 44.1% shooting from the field and 36.4% from the three-point range in 17 G League games.
