Klay Thompson Made Golden State Warriors History On Tuesday Night
On Tuesday evening, the Golden State Warriors are hosting the New Orleans Pelicans at the Chase Center in California.
During the game, five-time All-Star Klay Thompson made Warriors history by passing Al Attles on the franchise's all-time games played list.
Via The Warriors: "With tonight's game, Klay Thompson has passed Al Attles for the seventh most regular-season games played in franchise history."
The former Washington State star has now appeared in 712 regular season games, and the next player for him to pass on the list will be Paul Arizin (713).
He will be able to move ahead of Arizin after two more games.
The other five players in front of him are Jeff Mullins (716), Draymond Green (753), Nate Thurmond (757), Chris Mullin (807) and Steph Curry (877)
Thompson was the 11th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and has spent his entire career with the Warriors.
In four out of the previous eight seasons, he has helped lead the team to the NBA Championship (they have also been to the NBA Finals six times in that span).
The 33-year-old entered the night with averages of 21.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest in 64 games.
He is also shooting 43.4% from the field and 40.7% from the three-point range.
The Warriors are 39-37 in 76 games, which has them tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
They are 5-5 in their last ten games and an impressive 30-8 in the 38 games they have hosted on their home floor.
