On Tuesday evening, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are in Colorado facing off against the Denver Nuggets for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.

James has led the Lakers to victories over the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors in the first two rounds.

The four-time NBA Champion is 38 but still remains among one of the best players in the league and has averaged 23.4 points, 10.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 49.1% from the field through the first 12 games of the Playoffs.

While he has improved his three-point shot over the years, James has never been known as an elite shooter (he shoots a career 34.5% from the three-point range).

That said, the future Hall of Famer is third on the all-time Playoff three-pointers list (453) and only 47 away from becoming the third player ever to make 500 in the NBA Playoffs.

During their second-round Playoff series with the Golden State Warriors, Klay Thompson became only the second player ever to make 500 career Playoff three-pointers.

Even if the Lakers are able to make the NBA Finals, James would be unlikely to reach 500 this season (he's averaging 1.8 three-pointers made per contest during the 2023 NBA Playoffs).

That said, he will likely join Thompson and Steph Curry as the only three players to make 500 career Playoff three-pointers during the 2024 NBA Playoffs.

James finished the regular season with sensational averages of 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists per contest while shooting 50.0% from the field.
