Los Angeles Lakers Make Roster Move Following Friday Night's Game Against Timberwolves

Following Friday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Los Angeles Lakers made a roster move when they assigned rookie guard Max Christie to the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G League.

While they went on a run late in Friday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Los Angeles Lakers were unable to come away with a victory on their home floor, as they fell 110-102 to Minnesota.

The Lakers remain outside of the Play-In Tournament picture in the Western Conference, but the good news for them is that the New Orleans Pelicans and Utah Jazz both lost on Friday as well, so the Lakers are still just one game behind both teams for the 9-seed and 10-seed in the conference.

Without LeBron James though, things will be tough for Los Angeles, as even a 38-point night by Anthony Davis was not enough to get them past the Timberwolves.

They will have to search deep to try and string together a winning record over their final 18 games of the regular season and following this loss against Minnesota, the Lakers make a roster adjustment.

Not play against the Timberwolves, rookie guard Max Christie was sent down to the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G League by the Los Angeles Lakers late Friday night pacific time.

Going back-and-forth between the G League and the NBA all season long, Christie has been working on his craft out on the wing in case his number is to be called at some point over the final stretch of the season.

Max Christie will likely re-join the team ahead of their next game on Sunday against the Golden State Warriors, as the South Bay Lakers have a game on Saturday night against the Maine Celtics, the G League affiliates of the Boston Celtics.

Looking to get their rookie extra reps and real minutes in games, the Lakers will have Christie play in this G League game on Saturday evening.

Appearing in 37 games for the Lakers at the NBA level, Christie has averaged 3.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game while shooting 41.9 percent from three-point range on 62 total attempts.
