Los Angeles Lakers Make A Roster Move Following Win Over Grizzlies On Tuesday Night

Following their victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers assigned Max Christie to the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G League.

Looking to make a late-season playoff push after a troublesome start to the 2022-23 NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers have now won five of their last seven games since the All-Star break after defeating the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night.

Picking up a much-needed 112-103 victory over the Grizzlies on a night in which the Lakers celebrated Paul Gasol and retired his number, Los Angeles now finds themselves as the 9-seed in the Western Conference with 16 games remaining on their schedule.

Following this game, the Lakers decided to make a roster move, as they assigned rookie guard Max Christie to the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G League, a transaction that is becoming a weekly occurrence.

Christie, the 35th overall pick by Los Angeles in the 2022 NBA Draft, has spent a lot of time in the NBA practicing with the Lakers, but he has also spent a lot of time in the G League practicing and playing for the South Bay Lakers.

Scheduled to play the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Wednesday night, the G League affiliates of the Miami Heat, Max Christie will likely suit up and play in this game to get more reps in his rookie season.

In their last game against the Skyforce on Monday, Christie came off-the-bench for South Bay and scored 16 points on 6-14 shooting, 2-3 from three-point range, and he also had two rebounds.

Christie will likely be recalled by the Lakers ahead of their game against the Toronto Raptors on Friday.
