Los Angeles Lakers Made A Roster Move After Friday's Victory

Following Friday night's victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Los Angeles Lakers assigned rookie guard Max Christie to the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G League.

Picking up a 116-111 victory at home over the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Los Angeles Lakers pulled ahead in the Western Conference standings, as they are now tied at 37-37 on the season with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

However, Minnesota has won two games against Los Angeles this season, giving them the tiebreaker in the standings.

With just eight games remaining on their schedule, the Lakers find themselves as the 8-seed in the Western Conference, just 1.5 games back of the 6-seed.

A lot can happen in the Western Conference standings though given how tight things are, which is why each win matters a little bit more for the Lakers and each loss hurts a little bit more this time of the year.

Following Friday night's victory over the Thunder, the Lakers made a quick roster adjustment once again, sending rookie guard Max Christie to the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G League.

Christie was sent to the G League on Thursday and was then recalled ahead of the Lakers' game against the Thunder on Friday afternoon.

The rookie last played with the South Bay Lakers on Tuesday, recording 12 points and 6 rebounds in 32 minutes of play against the Oklahoma City Blue.

Scheduled to play the G League Ignite on Saturday night, Max Christie will likely play in yet another game for South Bay as he continues to work on his development.

Although he did not play in the team's victory over the Thunder before being sent back down to the G League, Christie has played in a total of 38 games for the Lakers, averaging 3.4 points and 1.9 rebounds in about 13.3 minutes per game.

The Los Angeles Lakers will likely continue their approach of assigning and recalling Max Christie from the G League, as he will likely re-join the team ahead of their next game on Sunday afternoon against the Chicago Bulls
